Tony “T-Bar” Barnes is a 28-year veteran of the United States Marine Corps and United States Air Force, having faithfully served across multiple branches of the military. Following his military career, he continued his commitment to service through the Department of Veterans Affairs, where he spent over a decade supporting veterans through roles focused on patient experience, advocacy, and care.
Throughout his post-military career, Tony has served in a variety of leadership and service-oriented roles, including positions within the VA healthcare system and patient relations, where he worked to ensure that veterans received compassionate, high-quality care. His work reflects a deep and ongoing dedication to those who have served our nation.
Tony currently serves on the Board of Directors for Christian Military Fellowship, where he brings wisdom, leadership, and a steady voice of experience to help guide the ministry’s mission. His perspective, shaped by both military service and continued work with veterans, adds meaningful insight into the needs of the military community.
In addition to his leadership role, Tony is a writer and contributor to CMF’s Christian Report, using his voice to encourage and strengthen others in their walk with Christ.
Tony holds a Master of Public Administration from Liberty University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus, equipping him with both practical and strategic leadership skills.
He is married to his wife, Sheri. They are a blended family and together they have 4 children and 4 grandchildren.
His life reflects a continued commitment to serving both his country and the Lord.
