Chaplain Walter Dee

Ministry to Camp Pendleton, Miramar MCAS,
Naval Base San Diego

Walter Dee serves as a chaplain in the United States Air Force, where he has the privilege of caring for Airmen in both their operational duties and spiritual lives. Prior to his Air Force service, Walter served in the United States Navy as a Religious Program Specialist, supporting chaplains and ministry to service members.

Chaplain Wallie, as he is known to those whom he serves, lives in Southern California with his wife, Jenny, and their five children. He considers his family one of God’s greatest gifts and enjoys investing time with them, reading, teaching, staying active, and engaging in thoughtful theological conversations. He also enjoys playing guitar and hockey and encouraging others to pursue the calling God has placed on their lives.

Chaplain Wallie’s faith was deeply shaped during his father’s battle with cancer. Watching his father cling to Christ with courage and unwavering hope showed him that the gospel is not only for life’s good days but also for its darkest moments. That testimony continues to anchor Wallie in the truth that through Jesus Christ, death does not have the final word.

Chaplain Wallie was drawn to Christian Military Fellowship because of its commitment to disciple-making within the military community. His heart is to encourage, teach, and mentor service members so they are equipped with the gospel and confident in living boldly for Christ.

Life Verse: 1 Corinthians 15:22–25: “For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ. Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.”

Here, the Apostle Paul reminds us of a powerful and hope-filled truth: just as death came through Adam, life comes through Christ. Because we are united to Adam by nature, we experience the reality of death. But for those who belong to Jesus, that is not the end of the story. Christ has been raised, and in Him we too will be made alive.

Paul shows us that God’s redemptive plan is unfolding with purpose and certainty. Christ is already reigning. Even now, He is putting every enemy under His feet—sin, suffering, evil, and ultimately death itself. Nothing is outside His authority.
