Veterans Ministry, Minnesota
Minnesota Hope & Honor Ministry
Carol Simning serves faithfully through CMF’s Minnesota Hope & Honor Ministry, ministering to veterans with compassion, humility, and a deep understanding of both life’s hardships and God’s sustaining grace.
Raised on a farm, Carol developed a strong work ethic early in life—driving tractors, baling hay, and working with her hands. She has always found joy in practical service, in taking things apart and putting them back together—a theme that continues to shape her ministry today as she walks alongside others in seasons of brokenness and restoration.
Carol was raised in a Christian home and grounded in faith from a young age. Over time, through the influence of loved ones who spoke truth into her life, she came to understand her worth and identity as someone deeply valued and precious in God’s sight. That truth became even more personal through seasons of loss, including the passing of her husband, and through years of caregiving and service to others.
Her ministry calling has been shaped not by position, but by willingness—doing the unseen, everyday work that allows others to be cared for, encouraged, and restored. Whether preparing meals, cleaning, organizing, or simply being present, Carol embodies a quiet, servant-hearted faith that meets people right where they are.
Carol has a special heart for military members and veterans. She actively ministers to veterans in her church and regularly visits those living in assisted living and convalescent homes—many of whom have little or no family support. She is especially drawn to what she often refers to as the “forgotten veterans”—those who may no longer be seen or remembered by others, but who are deeply known and loved by God. With what she lovingly calls “grandmother advice,” Carol offers wisdom, encouragement, and the steady reminder that they are seen, valued, and never alone.
Her life verse, Philippians 4:13—“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”—has carried her through every season and continues to guide her ministry today.
Carol’s desire is simple yet profound: to come alongside those who are hurting, to serve in whatever way is needed, and to help others discover the hope, healing, and identity found in Christ.
