How to Avoid Marrying a Jerk conference, 3-5 Aug 2007, Germany

From Christian Report

Because of the funding of Chaplain (Major General) Carver and the USAG-Darmstadt Religious Support Office, 18 of us were able to go to Hinterbrand Lodge in Southern Germany for this conference.  We used the material from www.nojerks.com, created by Dr. John Van Epp.  It's been in the media due to its catchy title.

During our free time, we went to www.eagles-nest.de/en, "designed as a birthday present for Adolf Hitler's 50th birthday by Martin Bormann on behalf of the NSDAP (Nazi Party). The Allied bombing of World War II did not damage the Eagle's Nest, and thanks to the intervention of former Governor Jacob, the Eagle's Nest was spared being blown up after the war."  We need to remember the past.

After the tour and seeing Christ's beautiful creation, we went to the town of Berchtesgaden for a traditional German festival.  It was good to see some culture.

Godincidences (from Christian Report Nov. 2009)

God may be behind our coincidences, like the man behind the curtain in The Wizard of Oz. :)

The Westminster Confession of Faith states that the Scriptures, "being immediately inspired by God, and by his singular care and Providence". God is in control, even if it doesn't seem like it.

Six degrees of separation is the theory that anyone on the planet can be

connected to any other person on the planet through a chain of acquaintances

that has no more than five intermediaries. The theory was first proposed in

1929 by the Hungarian writer Frigyes Karinthy in a short story called

Forward Operating Base CO Singles’ Trip 10 – 12 July 2013

From Christian Report

"www.fobsummitcountyco.org is run by retired Non-Commissioned Officers.  They put us up and fed us for free in a $400K home in Buena Vista, CO.  The first day we went on a four hour hike to Ptarmigan Lake.  That night I taught on Spiritual Resiliency, using material from A Resilient Life by Gordon Macdonald.  The second day we went fishing, kayaking and had a BBQ at Cottonwood Lake (pictured above).  That night I taught on relationships, using www.lovethinks.com by John Van Epp.  The third day we were given free passes to Mt. Princeton water park.  We were definitely spoiled!"
