Ron & Pam Weinzapfel

Ministry to Fort Hood
Fund #4280

Ron and Pam Weinzapfel have faithfully served the Lord together for decades, bringing a lifetime of experience, compassion, and steadfast faith to their ministry with soldiers and their families at Fort Hood.

Both Ron and Pam were raised in homes that, while not deeply grounded in Scripture, instilled in them a reverence for God, a love of country, and a strong sense of responsibility. Coming of age during the Vietnam era, Ron was drafted into the United States Marine Corps and served as an infantryman in Vietnam, while Pam pursued her nursing degree. They met following Ron’s return, and after Pam’s graduation, they were married.

Before beginning their life together, both came to a saving and life-changing knowledge of Jesus Christ. With a shared desire to serve Him, they attended Bible college, preparing for a life of ministry. Though their path initially led them into decades of faithful service within local churches, raising three children and later enjoying seven grandchildren, God was preparing them for a future calling.

In their late 50s, following the events of 9/11 and the onset of the Iraq War, Ron and Pam felt a clear and compelling call to full-time ministry, specifically to the military community. With a deep burden to see soldiers come to Christ and believers strengthened in their faith, they stepped away from their careers to serve wherever the Lord would lead.

They began by serving in a retreat ministry at Fort Jackson for four years before being called to Fort Hood, where they now minister through Bible studies and trauma healing. Their heart is to walk alongside soldiers—encouraging, discipling, and equipping them to live out their faith in the midst of the unique challenges of military life.

Ron and Pam continue to serve faithfully, trusting the Lord’s timing and provision. Looking back, they are deeply humbled by the way God has orchestrated their lives, never regretting their decision to leave behind their careers to follow His call.

Their ministry is anchored in the truth of Isaiah 61:1–3:

"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; to grant to those who mourn in Zion; to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified."
