About
C. R. Pearson was a Church of the Nazarene evangelist active primarily in the 1920s.
He resided in Greensboro, Indiana (mailing address listed as Box 23, Greensboro, Ind. in contemporary publications). He is repeatedly identified in Nazarene sources simply as “Evangelist C. R. Pearson.”
Pearson contributed short articles and pieces to the denomination’s official magazine, Herald of Holiness. Documented examples include:
“A Lesson in Church Arithmetic” (published in the March 11, 1925 issue)
“The Rewards of a Christian Life” (published in the July 1, 1925 issue)
These contributions place him within the early 20th-century Holiness/Nazarene evangelistic circuit. Beyond these periodical mentions and his listing as an evangelist, detailed biographical information (birth/death dates, family background, formal education, or longer published works) is scarce in readily available historical records.
He appears to have been one of many traveling evangelists who supported the growing Church of the Nazarene through preaching and short written pieces during the denomination’s formative decades, rather than a major author or theologian with a large body of books.
