It is an unquestionable truth, that if a man be not happy at home, he cannot be happy anywhere; and he who is happy there, need be miserable nowhere. (John Angell James, The Marriage Ring)

With the approach of Valentine's Day, I thought it would be good to mention some thoughts on love and marriage.  In today's society, I believe that both of these words have become perverse in their current definitions.  Lust, promiscuous sex, and self aggrandizement appear to be the key words in the modern vernacular of love while marriage is thought of as life without parole.  Since the U.S. Census Bureau reports that a third of first marriages end in divorce, it only substantiates our ignorance and misunderstanding of love and marriage.

For the Christian (one whose body, soul, and mind belong to the Lord Jesus Christ) the success of marriage is directly equated to the exercise of the new chooser we have been given.  We may choose righteously!  If you are a Christian, you can find your fulfillment in Christ and enjoy all the happiness created for you in the marriage relationship.  If you do not, it is because you have not exercised your chooser!  Faith and obedience are toes on the same foot!  Unbelief and disobedience are the toes on the other foot.  If you choose lust you reap the full measure of God's wrath in being abandoned to sin!  If you choose life and light you enjoy the full measure of His Grace!

Are you smitten with the Love of Christ?  Does His love permeated your heart and your marriage?  If not, choose the high road today!  Take a step down the road less traveled.  You won't be disappointed!
