Well, I must admit that this is not something I saw myself venturing into, but here I am. I noticed the opportunity when I was reviewing one of Bob Flynn's entries and said to myself, "If I'm going to start a blog, who better to start one through than Christian Military Fellowship (CMF)." I don't remember the exact date I started affiliating with CMF, but I have been with them since I lived in Spokane, Washington somewhere around 1999. They have always been fatihful in maintaining effective communications with and ministering to military service members and I have greatly appreciated the times they have even maintained commmunications with me while I have been deployed. Last time I was deployed, they sent me a couple of books timely with some struggles I was having. Bob Flynn somehow was one of the people who found me shortly after I established a Facebook account last year (yes, I know...I am extremely behind the times :-P) and became when one of early friends on that site. So, I don't know with what kind of regularity I'll be able to maintain a blog or even if anyone will care to read it, but God has been so gracious in ministering to me, I sometimes feel that if I don't share it, I'll burst (hopefully not literally, that would be messy). I'll admit the title of "Soldier of the Cross" is probably not the most ingenious title, but to me, it is all about Jesus and what He accomplishes through this soldier (both literally and spiritually).

Re: Leap of faith - kind of

Good Morning Jay!...and welcome to the world of blogging! I'm glad I found you and get to be your first comment. They seem to be few and far between over here, although they are read. We just don't know what God is doing in the hearts of the readers. One thing for sure, when God does anything in a person's heart, it is always manifestly good and for His glory!

My contributions to the CMF blogs is sporadic compared to Bob, and since it is necessary to be part of CMF in order to comment (for good reasons), I also have a blog open to anyone (address above), that might or might not have been a good idea. I post blogs from The Battle Cry here over there also and indeed do get some 'interesting' comments.

Anyway, I think you hit the nail on the head in wanting to share what God is doing in and through you!

Re: Leap of faith - kind of

Hey Dan, I'm glad you responded to me. I was hoping to get some kind of response and when I finally opened up the blog again, there you were :-). I did notice not many respond or comment, so I'm glad you specified that these do get read...or else I truly might have wondered :-P. However, I did notice that you guys also post these entries on Facebook. I want to attempt to do that too and I am guessing I can do that by hitting that Facebook button below the entry...if not, I might be asking you later how to do that :-P. Anyway, I hope you enjoy reading my entries. I definitely enjoy writing and I think this is one avenue that God can really use me! I hope that didn't come off as cocky, because it was not meant to be. I say it humbly, because I'm definitely amazed God would want to use a broken vessel like me, but I am honored to be a servant used for His Kingdom purposes. Take care, brother and thanks again!

Don't be surprised:-) Broken vessels are the only ones Jesus Christ uses!
