The new diet plan, More of Jesus and Less of Me!

"For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God." (NASB)

"For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God." (KJV)

"If his good deeds had made him acceptable to God, He would have had something to boast about. But that was not God's way." (NLT2004)

"Was it because of his good deeds that God accepted him? If so, he would have had something to boast about. But from God's point of view Abraham had no basis at all for pride." (NLT1996)

"For if Abraham was declared righteous by the works of the law, he has something to boast about — but not before God." (NET)

A great place to begin, for we know that the Lord is no respecter of persons.  We know that salvation can be in no other way but by faith in Christ.  We know that our works can be nothing but filthy rags therefore, there is nothing we can offer.  Each day of our lives we set the attitude of our heart so that we see ourselves as alive in Christ or dead in sin.  The new diet plan, More of Jesus and Less of Me!  What is it that I would wish to save of my sinful self.  Yet the fruit of an intimate relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ is a fruitful ministry recognizing that it is the Lord Jesus Himself that brings the increase!
