"You are convinced that you are a guide for the blind and a light for people who are lost in darkness." (NLT)

Like the Jew, we too let our opinion of ourselves wax great!

Romans 2:19

"and are confident that you yourself are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness," (NASB)

"And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness," (KJV)

"You are convinced that you are a guide for the blind and a light for people who are lost in darkness." (NLT)

"and if you are convinced that you yourself are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness," (NET)

Like the Jew, we too let our opinion of ourselves wax great! We are convinced we are superior in knowledge to the rest of the world, while holding great confidence in our religious prowess. We think ourselves qualified to teach those of lesser blessing how to live their lives while our hypocrisy climbs to greater heights.

Pro 26:12 "There is more hope for fools than for people who think they are wise." (NLT)

Isa 5:21 "What sorrow for those who are wise in their own eyes and think themselves so clever." (NLT)

Isa 56:10 "For the leaders of My people—the LORD's watchmen, His shepherds—are blind and ignorant. They are like silent watchdogs that give no warning when danger comes. They love to lie around, sleeping and dreaming." (NLT)

Mat 6:23 "But when your eye is bad, your whole body is filled with darkness. And if the light you think you have is actually darkness, how deep that darkness is!" (NLT)

Mat 15:14 "so ignore them. They are blind guides leading the blind, and if one blind person guides another, they will both fall into a ditch."

1Co 3:18 "Stop deceiving yourselves. If you think you are wise by this world's standards, you need to become a fool to be truly wise." (NLT)

1Co 8:2 "Anyone who claims to know all the answers doesn't really know very much." (NLT)
