Before embarking on a mission, every good soldier or Marine knows that logistics is important.  The Operations Plan is consulted, equipment is prepared, ammunition and weapons are issued, food and water are packed, communications are checked and double checked and the order is given to "move 'em out."  Anyone that did not engage those essentials of an operation would be a fool indeed.

However, we (and I include myself) will often embark on the operation Jesus Christ has for us that day without consulting the OPlan, without taking in spiritual nourishment for the day and certainly without doing a "comm check" with our Creator.  Assuredly, tomorrow God has some situations he has designed for you.  In fact, some of them won't be pleasant.  We tend to want smooth sailing each day, but you don't learn much with smooth sailing.

For a hurdler to practice running the track, there has to be obstacles along the path so the hurdler can get better at his sport.  Were the hurdler to always run on a clearn track, he woudn't be very proficient at jumping those barriers.  For a football player to merely want to take the field on Sunday without practicing with the team is an overpaid goofball.  Each of these sports require there to be obstacles or contact to get ready for the competition.  Hurdles and football pads are implemented to give the athlete an opportunity to demonstrate their skills.

Tomorrow you will have opportunities to demonstrate your faith.  You can resent them...or you can relish the fact that God trusts you enough to give you an opportunity to demonstrate your faith.

In Him,

T-Bar
